Everest Base Camp lies in between China and Nepal. It is the primary point of Mount Everest. There are two base camps on the opposite sides of Mount Everest. They are south Base Camp and another is North Base Camp. South Base Camp lies in Nepal at an altitude of 5,364 Meter (17,598ft). The North Base Camp lies in Tibet, China at 5,150 Meter(16,900ft).
These are the initial campsites of Mt.Everest. They visited there to see the beautiful pace of Mount Everest. North Base Camp is to go to Northern ridge. They go through South Base Camp to reach Southern ridge. There are two base camps for mountain climbers in the Everest Base Camp.

How difficult is the Everest Base Camp Trek?
It is very hard to trek but the result of this trek is unbelievable. If you like to feel thrilled and adventurous while traveling then Everest Base Camp is the best trekking destination. You will get the best opportunity to see heaven live there. You will feel thrilled by the beautiful pace of Mt. Everest. You can go there solo or in a group. Cost Everest Base Camp Trek:
The cost of trekking Everest Base Camp Trek depends upon you. Because if you travel solo then it depends upon you. Its means how much you spent there while traveling. And if you go through the trekking agency, then you have to pay according to their payment policy. The cost for the trek depends upon you.
According to the agency the price range for the best-supported climb ranges from $28000 to $85000. A fully custom climb will run over $115000 and that special risk-taker can skimp by for well under $20000. All the transportation charges from Kathmandu or Lhasa, base camp tents, foods, sherpa support, guider, supplemental oxygen are included in this payment. So this payment range is normal according to the trekking route.
Permits for Everest Base Camp
Due to strict rules, a new permits system has been made and implemented in Everest Region. According to the trekking information the old trekking permits have been replaced by the new local entry permits on Khumbu. To get a full permit, there are many requirements and entry permits which are followed below
1. Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality Entrance Permit
This is a new permit for entry which was implemented from 1st October 2018. This permit was imposed to replace the TIMS( TIMS stands for the Trekkers Information Management System). The local government of Khumbu collects the entry charge of NRP 2000 per person from each international tourist.
If you are planning for trekking to Everest Base Camp, you must obtain Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality Entrance Permit.
2. Sagarmatha National Park Permits
You can get your entrance card either from Kathmandu at Nepal Tourism Board. Or in Monjo at Park Entrance Gate. The rate of this card is NRP 3000 per person.
If you are going through Jiri then you need an additional permit i.e. from Gaurishankar Conservation Area. You can this permit from Nepal Tourism Board at Kathamandu. It cost NRP 3000 per person.
Required Documents for trekking permits
- Take your own passport to get the permits from Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Municipality and Sagarmatha National park.
- Two copies of the photo to get the entry permits from Gaurishankar Conservation Area.
- You have to fill up some form to get the entry from Gaurishankar Conservation Area

About Mount Everest
Mount Everest is the world’s highest mountain above sea level. It is located in the Mahalangur Himal. This is the border of Nepal and China. The current height of Mt. Everest is 8848.86 Meter. History of Mount Everest
In 1865, Mount Everest was called Peak XV and was renamed Sir George Everest. Sir George Everest was the British surveyor-general of India from 1830 to 1843.
According to Nepal’s eminent historian, the late Baburam Acharya was the creator of the Nepali name of Mount Everest as Sagarmatha(Nepali). The height of Mount Everest is not only the top of the world but also it is the broader between Nepal-China.
The first footprint was left by Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay in 1953. Sir Edmund Hillary passed away in mid of the way but Tenzing Norgay reached the 29,035-foot peak of Everest on 29th May 1953. And become the first people to stand atop the world’s highest mountain.
The name of Mount Everest in China is Chomolungma, which means “Mother Goddess of the World”. And the Nepali name is Sagarmatha.
