Kanchenjunga Base Camp is one of the best trekking trails in the world. The total length of the trek is about 44 km. so it requires perfect fitness for walking in the snow for more than three weeks with heavy bags. The trails lie in the eastern Himalayas part of the country Nepal. It takes about 25-26 days to complete this trek. While traveling to Kanchenjunga Base Camp it rounds the Kanchenjunga Himalayas Range. Trekkers can see an amazing panorama of snow, Oak forests, rhododendrons, and many more Himalayan summits. From the base camp of Kanchenjunga, you can see the beautiful peaks. This trekking route follows Nepal’s Himalayan border with Tibet and India.

1. How difficult is the Kanchenjunga Base Camp?

It is the initial step of the climber to reach the top of the Kanchenjunga. It lies in a remote area of Nepal. Thus, it is very hard for this trek but the consciousness of this trek is amazing. The highest point of this camp is in the north part. It is 5200 Meters.

2. Cost Kanchenjunga Base Camp Trek

The cost of trekking to Kanchenjunga Base Camp depends upon you. Because if you travel solo then it depends upon you. It means how much money you use there while traveling. And if you go through the trekking agency, they are charged according to their policy. And the minimum charge for this take is above 20000. 

According to the trekking agency, the price range for the best-supported climb ranged from above NRP 19000. It covers all the transportation charges from Kathmandu to Biratnagar, base camp tents, accommodation, trekking guide, and other facilities as per the need. So this payment range is normal according to the trekking route.

3. Permits for Kanchenjunga Base Camp: 

Due to strict rules, a new permit system has been made and implemented in this Region. According to the trekking information the old trekking permits have been replaced by the new local entry permits there. To get a full permit, many requirements are

4. According to KCAP &Tapethok and Yamphuding VDCs

KCAP means the Kanchanjunga Conservation Area which includes a major portion of the trek for the Base Camp. KCAP permits are required for you to get entry to Kanchanjunga Conservation Area.

Tampethok and Yamphuding VDCs have also made the restrictions there without the permits from the VDC. 

The cost for the KCAP permit care is Nrs 2000 per person. And there are no time limits for this card. 

And the cost for the Kanchanjunga Restricted Area Permits(RAP) is US dollar 10 per person per week. 

You can get the above-mentioned permits from the valid local travel agency registered in Nepal. You need more than two trekkers in the group to get this permit. 

Getting the Kanchenjunga Trek RAP card requires the following documents

  • On the letterhead paper of the agencies, you need to supply details of

6. About Kanchenjunga 

Kanchanjunga is the world’s third-highest mountain. It is also listed among the 14 peaks of the world which have more than 8000 meters in height. The other name of Kanchenjunga is Kanchenjunga. It is located in the Asia country Nepal. The current height of Kanchenjunga is 28169 Meters and 8586Ft. It is the sovereign of the country Nepal. It is situated in the eastern Himalayas on the border between Nepal and India.  The northern part of Kanchenjunga is in Sikkim India and the eastern part is in Nepal, 46 miles (74km) northwest of Darjeeling Sikkim. And the actual location of Kanchenjunga is the country Nepal. There are 120 glaciers in the Kanchenjunga Himal.

7. History of kanchenjunga

Kanchenjunga Himal was regarded as the earth’s highest mountain until the year 1852. It was climbed by Joe Brown and George Band on 25th May 1995. They became part of the 1955 British Kanchenjunga expedition. 

According to history, the first known map of Kanchanjunga was made by Rinzin Namgyal. He was one of the explorers of the mid 19th century who sketched the map of Kanchenjunga.
